Woohoo! After months of hard labor we’ve finally wrapped production on both animation and background painting for our short film ‘From The Snow-Covered Hill’. It will now go through post-production to be completely finished by the end of the year. Stay tuned for news about the release…
Ink Washed Toons 01: Will
Over the past few years I drew Will, the main character of our short, THOUSANDS of times. But as production on animation wrapped this week, I’ll never have to draw him again. It feels kinda weird to say goodbye, so let me draw him one last time just for you. M.
Painting Backgrounds for Animation: Bricks
The backgrounds for our short ‘From The Snow-Covered Hill’ require many, many bricks. Why not show you how we paint them? You might want to grab a brush and try it yourself!
How we paint a background for animation
It’s no secret we love to use hand-painted backgrounds behind our animation. Here’s a video on how we make them.
Crowdfunding Campaign
Crowdfunding for “From The Snow-Covered Hill” has gone live! This is exciting, since we can finally share more about our short in the coming weeks. You can find the campaign on cinecrowd.com
From clay to mold to cast
We’ve been working on a little model. Here’s a little rundown of how it’s made:
We create a sculpture out of clay, from which we make a two part silicone mold.
The silicone allows for casting of more complex shapes without damaging the mold.
Once cast, the sculpture is painted with model paint. Pretty, isn’t it?
