From The Snow-Covered Hill

Episode XV! A film taking place at school naturally requires painting a lot of school benches.

While it may look simple, it proved quite difficult to paint compositions with snow. And though the result may look cold, this particular background was painted while it was 37°C outside.

This composition was drawn in a threatening perspective, heightening the drama of the shot. We pushed this even further by designing the chalkboard to reach the ceiling, so you’d need a ladder to write at the top of it.

In this episode, we focus on creating textures for roof tiles and add growth of moss to give a little green variety throughout.

Here, we painted just a hint of sunshine hitting the darkened rooftop, slightly teasing what’s behind it and hinting what the bird wants our main character to see.
