The goal of this visual was to play with the contrast of the lighting in the foreground and background, to create a focus on the cathedral looming over a medieval street.

Tokyo Drinking Alley | Painting Backgrounds for Animation #17
This one is not really part of an animated film, but rather one shot we created to try and capture an feeling or memory. Something which brings you back to a moment or place. Maybe the end of a night of drinking too much in a drinking alley, one of things in Japan that are so much part of the city life. Hopefully you can transport yourself there for a brief moment, or even relate…
Undone | Painting Backgrounds for Animation #16
We know a couple of you have been waiting for this for a long time, but finally here’s another Painting Backgrounds For Animation video. It’s a short one, but hopefully it fulfills your sweet tooth for now!
Oil paints were used for the production of “Undone”, which was a fresh change of pace. Gave some great new insight for future paintings. Stay tuned for more videos soon, and in the meantime check Undone on Amazon Prime Video.

Festival News
Excited that the music video we created with Wan Qing Wang for Handsome Johnny is making it’s international festival debut at the Insomnia Animation Festival this month. So hop onto your scooter and get to Russia!
Handsome Johnny: Johnny And The Devil
Something’s here! It’s the music video for ‘Johnny And The Devil’, commissioned by alternative roots/americana band Handsome Johnny.
We only had about a month to put this together, but luckily we had Wan Qing Wang on our team. Together with her we decided to focus on creating an ominous mood with the lighting, colors and telling a straightforward tale with some slightly weird visuals.
Anima 2019: Award & Review
We were very surprised and honored our animated short won the RTBF – La Trois Award at Anima 2019 this past weekend. Thanks to the festival and everyone who helped and supported us in creating this film!
Branchés Culture saw our film there, and wrote a little review in French. It roughly translates to:
“A superb project that addresses the problem of bullying among young people. Very nice drawings, a careful realization and a surprising fall make this project a great success. A movie to show to young and old alike.”
Next time you can catch our film will be next Saturday, at Athens Animfest.
